IELTS Speaking Part Three
Remember, first of all, that the IELTS Speaking Part Three is always the same subject as Part Two. There are some very common subjects such as:
- education
- tourism
- skills
- family and friends
- money
- celebrations
- media
- the environment
You need to practise talking about these kinds of subjects and get together a wide source of vocabulary. Cambridge Vocabulary for IELTS dedicates units to the different subjects that may come up. The same subjects could come up in the writing. IELTS Speaking Topics: Part 3 gives you sample questions to practise when you've done the worksheets here.
Whatever the subject, the kinds of questions are the same. The examiners are checking that you are able to:
- give personal opinions/talk about general points of view
- make suggestions
- make comparisons
- talk about trends
- speculate about the future
The most important thing is to have a variety of interesting expressions to use for each kind of question. Click on the areas above to find useful phrases and questions to answer. When you give your answers, you should record them so that you can listen back for mistakes or hesitations. Alternatively, you could try to do this with a group of friends and give each other advice.
